Feeling insecure: New YouTube video


Hey everyone! I just wanted to drop in a quick second to let you know I have a new video up on my youtube channel. https://youtu.be/QPIgrF_CuCU It’s so important to be secure in knowing who you are and whose you are. Satan (who is the father of lies might I add) plan is to plant seeds of insecurity in our hearts so that we will live in fear of rejection, embarrassment, fear, and so much more. He doesn’t want us to realize Gods truth about ourselves. That way we’ll never be all that God called us to be.  My prayers is that we begin to see our worth through the eyes of God rather than man (this world). I love you all so much. Let’s continue to grow and inspire others with the love of God.

When life knocks you down


Life can become so hectic that you’ll begin to let the pressures of life get you down. Don’t become so blinded by the smoke mirrors. Satan wants to cloud your vision for you to lose sight on the promises of God. Hold tight to the word of God and meditate on it day and night. There’s no way to fight off the lies of the enemy if you don’t know the truth of Gods words. The devil is a liar, as a matter of fact, the bible says that he is the father of lies (John 8:44). So anytime you hear a voice telling you that you are something that doesn’t line up with what God says. Cast it down and take those thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). It’s vital that you spend time in your word. How else do you expect to fight back?!? IT’S YOUR WEAPON! Gods word is alive and active….Sharper than a two edge sword! Fight back with the right weapons.

So if you have more bills than money, your health has taken an unexpected turn, your heart has just been broken, just lost your job, a loved one passed away, or maybe you’re just struggling to trust God… know that God is the same God that delivered you and brought you out before.  I’ve learned a great deal of learning to be content in whatever season God has placed me in. I encourage you to read Philippians 4:11-13 where it instructs you to be content in ALL things. Whether I’m broke or paid, hungry or well fed, friends all around me or alone, or whatever else I’m content. Why?!? Because I’ve learned to place my hope in Jesus and not in this world. I’ve learned that no matter what I’m facing, by FAITH the victory is mine.

So, if God be for you there is no one that can be against you… and what God bless no man can curse. So when life knocks you down praise God anyhow, because you are certain in your faith that He has not left you and will see you through. Don’t worry about your life because our life is but a vapor… We are here for a while and the next we aren’t (James 4:14). So cast your cares and lay them at the feet of Jesus and LEAVE THEM THERE!!

I pray that God will give you a peace that surpasses all understand. I pray when the cares of life knock you down that you remain steadfast and persevere and not rush through the process… but ask God what it is that he wants you to learn. His plans for your life is perfect and he’ll never allow you to go through anything if he wasn’t going to let you have Victory in it. Keep pressing!

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

Cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. Peter 5:7

 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm  46:1

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33

 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13

Overcoming suicidal thoughts: Video edition

Believe and not doubt


Today as  I sit here on the beach watching the waves, I’m reflecting back on so many years I wasted doubting God. I’m reminded by the scripture that says that when you doubt God you are like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the winds( James 1:6-9) As watch how these waves are tossed all kinds of ways they are totally uncontrolled and unstable. So I was so unstable when I doubted if God loved me, if he’ll take care of me, did he care about the many afflictions I received from others. Most of my younger life was spent depressed and questioning God. “God, do you see what I’m going through? Do you even care?” Tossing and turning through the night while crying myself to sleep. Turning up in clubs and drinking my days away seemed to be the only time I felt comfort.

I realized I doubted God because I didn’t truly know him. I was brought up in the church but what I knew was what others said about Him…. not what I really knew for myself. So to be honest, I didn’t trust God enough to lay down my cares for him to handle. So because everyone else I trusted hurt me, I figured God would also let me down. I realized that I had to get to know my Father for myself. So I began to study and meditate on his word.

I learned that He will never leave me nor forsake me, that He has great plans for me, plans to prosper me and not harm me plans to give me hope and a future. God knew me before I was in my mothers womb and before I was born He set me apart. I’m fearfully and wonderfully made in the eyes of God. He will not hold any good thing from me. God came to give me life and to give it more abundantly. I’m the head and not the tail, above ONLY and not beneath.

I had to start stirring myself up in the Lord. Let me tell you this. If you don’t guard your heart, satan is the father of lies and his job is to kill, steal, and destroy you. The enemy will whisper ” you’re not good enough, you’re ugly, no one will ever want you, you’re so stupid God has forgotten about you, you’ll always be where you are right now” I mean he told me so many lies and because I didn’t know who I was through Christ… I believed every lie he told me. He’ll blind you by the things you’re going through, the past, your shortcomings, and whatever else. Don’t be blinded by the smoke mirrors. I was once told that you have to SEE PAST WHAT YOU SEE. Look past what the enemy is trying to distract you with and know that God will never leave your side. Our emotions spend so much time changing but God remains the same. Doubt your doubts and trust God. Don’t doubt God because of the lies the enemy whispers in your ear. Don’t doubt God because you have a problem trusting him. Don’t doubt God because you lack wisdom of what he’s capable of. Take captive every thought that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and make it become subject to Gods word. 

So my nugget to give you if you’re doubting God is to ask yourself why. Find where your doubt crept in and kill it at the root. Go study Gods word and learn  his track record…. learn his characteristics and see He is so faithful and never changing. Begin to renew your mind with His word and choose not to accept anything contrary to what you learn to be true about our great provider. be sure to stay alert and on guard because as you begin to learn more about the truth, the father of lies (satan) will come in and try to knock you off course to keep you where you are. Put on your full armor of God (read Ephesians 6:10-18) and be intentional about gaining a new and improved mindset of believing and not doubting God. So whether you’re trusting God for a promotion, better job, a spouse, healing, spiritual guidance, a child, for Him to restore your marriage, or whatever it may be. DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS AND TRUST GODS TIMING AND THE PROCESS. He knows best!!!  I’ll leave some scriptures below for you to meditate on that helped me.

But when you ask, believe and not doubt. For the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double minded and unstable in all their ways. James 1:6-8

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the most high, will rest in the shadows of the almighty. Psalms 91:1

The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14

To fully surrender….


If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Matthew 10:39 NIV

I know people like myself, struggle to surrender their whole lives to God. I also know they’re many people who surrender yet still hold on to some areas they’re not quite ready to give up just yet. For me this area had to be turning up in the club, drinking, dressing half naked, and enticing men with my body. The Holy Spirit would constantly convict me of these things but I wasn’t sensitive enough to the Holy Spirits touch to care enough to change. You see if I was calling myself a christian yet turning up in clubs how on earth was I being set apart to be used by God, if my lifestyle was identical to the world? How could I be an example to those around me if I was taking shots to the head altering my state of mind giving the enemy a door to slide his scheming lying self into my mind? How could I be a living sacrifice wanting to be used by God when I wanted to wear tight dresses, short skirts, and shirts to expose my breast? How could I lead anyone to salvation when my whole lifestyle was being a stumble block to those around me? Sis, explain to me how that is a surrendered life? However, at the time you couldn’t tell me that it wasn’t. I figured as long as I went to church on Sundays and occasionally Wednesday night bible study, pray before bed (if I remembered)  I was surrendering enough of my life and time to God. As I dug deeper I realized how wrong I was.

To truly surrender our lives to God means to choose to follow his will for our life verses our own selfish desires. To many times we get caught up in wanting our dream job, nice cars, a husband with a big fancy wedding, and whatever else is on our list. All of those things are nice but what out of your own desires can surpass the will God has for your life? Can you imagine Jesus saying “Father, I know you want me to lay down my life for their sins buuuutttttt I have my own dreams for my life I want to pursue first, then I’ll come back to you ” CAN YOU IMAGINE?!? But Jesus said this to God “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Luke 22:42 How many of us can truly say ” Father I want this, this, and that for my life Yet I want your will to be done, not mine”. and ACTUALLY MEAN IT? If this is something you struggle with I just want to tell you this. Imagine how many people are waiting on YOU to fully surrender to Gods will! Imagine how many people are waiting on YOU to be obedient to Gods plan for your life! You never know who is tied to your obedience.

If you’re truly ready to surrender, do it wholeheartedly with no hesitation. Don’t have one foot in and one foot still in the world. In other words don’t say with your mouth that you are a follower of Christ but when no one is looking your lifestyle testifies against that.  You can either be hot or cold you do not want to be luke warm. God warns us that He will spit us out of his mouth. “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation 3:16 NIV  I also will tell you this… if you have family, friends, relationships, the love of money, or anything else blocking you from surrendering to God I suggest you get to the root of why you desire those things more than Gods perfect plan and will for your life.

I love you all sooooo much and my prayer is that we all continue to grow together and strive to live a surrendered  life pleasing to our Father in Heaven.

Commit your way to the Lord, serve Him ONLY, and trust that what He has in store is far greater than what you can do on your own!!

 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 NIV
