It’s not you, it’s me!

In this season of my life I really feel like I’m in a season of separation. Have you ever felt that way? The friends you used to have hour conversations with now seems forced. The relationship you’re in used to be filled with love, laughter, and spontaneous things to create new memories… now the relationship is sinking and you’re using all your might to save it. Gosh, it’s so not a good feeling, right?!? We try so hard to hang on to things that God is trying to remove… But my questions is why? Do you feel a certain obligation to carry these people with you because of the promises you’ve made to never leave their side? Do you feel as if your image and who you are is wrapped up into this person because you’ve been codependent for years? What’s keeping you attached to dead weight?

I’m learning that at some point we have to stop playing tug a war with God, release the rope, and let Him have His way in our lives.

So, if you find yourself having a hard time letting go of toxic people, wrong relationships, and friendships that are being a hinderance to your walk with God simply ask God for help. I’ve struggled greatly with letting go of friendships that had ran it’s course and I couldn’t seem to let those pointless relationships go either.  I found myself using the cliche statement “it’s not you, it’s me!” To get other people to cut me off so I wouldn’t have to do it myself.

Cliche I know but it was sooo true. It had nothing to do with them but EVERYTHING to do with who God was calling me to be and where He was trying to take me. I felt a sense of guilt walking away from people.  I had someone tell me once. You can’t take everyone, where God is trying to take you.

WHEW!!! Sooooo true!!!

I will say that everyone you have to separate yourself from isn’t bad…. and it isn’t always permanent. Sometimes you just have to take time away from everyone and really get what God is trying to do in your life. TRUE friends will understand, not say “you’ve changed”, or think you trying to be better than them. TRUE friends will push you into your purpose and intercede on your behalf. Not everyone is privileged to have that divine connection with someone so if you have it… make sure you communicate with that person, tell them you feel God tugging at your spirit, and that you may be a little distant for a season but its not them its you and that it’s vital that you reveive what the Lord is doing in your life.

I’m not sure why God may be pulling you from people but I know for me it was because I was very codependent on others. I was an emotional wreck, insecure, and was looking for love. I wanted those close to me to validate me as a person, to make me feel good about myself, and I even got so comfortable being who I was in my sinful nature that as long as I was around the same people I ran the streets with, partied with, and chased after these little randoms with I would NEVER change.

Now I know some of you reading this may be thinking “gosh Miracle, how rude.” I’m sorry but it’s the truth. Like I said before it has absolutely NOTHING  to do with others but EVERYTHING to do with what God wants to do in YOUR life. When God changes you, He changes YOU! You can’t force your whole circle to change ( pray that the Lord softens their heart, yes!) But you can’t force them to change and make your convictions their convictions. So the best thing you can do for yourself is pray and ask God to remove and help you release anyone that may stand in the way of your growth and I can assure you… you’ll begin to see those that’s not best for you dropping like flies. IT’S NOT THEM, IT’S YOU!! Your destiny requires it. IT’S APART OF THE PROCESS. Allow it, embrace it, go THROUGH IT!!!Screenshot_20170612-183247.jpg

It won’t even be forced. The places you used to go will no longer be enjoyable, the conversations you used to have will no longer tickle your fancy because God is creating a NEW thing in you so IF people start saying “oh you’ve changed” “oh so you acting brand new now??” (I got this often😔😒) don’t get upset. Yes you’ve changed and you are indeed a new person.

Don’t be afraid to separate yourself from people. Whether it be permantely or for a season. It has nothing to do with them and everything to do with you. If God is speaking to you concerning someone. LISTEN & ACT! Delayed OBEDIENCE is still disobedience. GOD will never remove anything or anyone for you to feel lack. He has a divine purpose and plan for EVERYTHING! If you’re catching a lot of tension for pulling away just simply tell them. “It’s not you, it’s me!”

I love you all so much!

Keep your faith strong, the light of your lives shinning bright, and keep inspiring souls wherever you go.

Thanks for reading this blog and i.pray you come back so we can all keep growing TOGETHER!!!
