Life after pain

Who were you before the heartache, pain, and disappointments set in that caused you to have a hardened heart? Did you have dreams and admiration in life? You stepped out on faith and it was a total flop, so you’re no longer ambitious while being paralyzed by fear of failing again. Growing up were you super confident with a beautiful outgoing personality but due to bulling you’re now shy, introverted, and avoid attention at all cost? Were you fully committed to serving God and others in your local church, then you experience “church hurt” and allowed it to run you away? Or maybe you’ve been back-stabbed by some of your girlfriends so you’re now incapable of letting God ordained friendships into your life because you think they’re all out to get you. Whatever part of yourself you lost, decide to get to know her again and strive to build her up stronger and wiser than before. You can’t keep walking in brokenness expecting to thrive. You’re leaving broken fragments of yourself everywhere and with everybody. Allow God to mend what you can’t and let go of the pieces necessary to go forth.

The worst thing we can do is allow what happens to us in this life to turn us into someone we don’t want to be causing us to miss out on all that life has to offer. James 4:14 say “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” I don’t know about you but the fact that I’ll be here one minute and gone the next, I’m going to enjoy life to the fullest! Why waste the precious days given to us by God crying soaking in misery when you can cast your cares unto the Lord because he cares and love you just that much (1 Peter 5:7). Am I saying not to take your time and release any emotions that you may be hoarding inside you? No! I’m simply suggesting that you acknowledge the emotion, cast it unto to the Lord, and get back to life. When you unpack and live where you’ve fallen you become stagnate, uninspired, and worst case scenario suffer with suicidal thoughts and depression (this happened to me). Don’t drift so far away from yourself that you’re unable to recognize YOU to do the necessary work to recover it all. Thank God we have a loving Father that will restore our lost months, years or however long we’ve been suffering.

It’s funny how we can be so vibrant full of ambition, living life at it’s full potential and then BAM life hits us and we allow it’s troubles to rob us of everything we once were. We tend to place our lil boo on the throne of our heart, place our value into our careers, and faith into the people we trust the most. I’ve learned that when we place our hopes, dreams, and faith in people or things we leave ourselves vulnerable to heartache and disappointment. In moving forward, we love to say we’re not looking back but moving straight ahead. However, I believe taking a glimpse of the past will give a outlook at what you once desired in life. Am I saying be who you were before you lost yourself; well no! I pray you desire to be more than who you once were. For me, examining who I was before, allowed me to gain perspective on the mistakes I made so that they wouldn’t be repeated. I was also able to study my weaknesses so that if or when I experienced the same struggles I could equip myself with the right tools to keep moving forward.

While in the process of discovering you again I want you to be mindful that Satan sees your every move. He isn’t threatened by the wimpy person you are now, but he wants to prevent you from discovering and becoming all God predestined you to be. He knows your weaknesses, what can distract you, and what hurts you and he’ll use whatever means necessary to stop your growth. Sis, don’t let him! I can only warn you of the things that stunted my growth with hopes you’ll learn from them and avoid the same attacks. I encourage you to put on your full armor of God and you go to war for what’s yours. We must start using Gods words as our weapon. In Ephesians 6:14-18 it tells us how to put on our full armor of God. It’s vital that you learn how to do so because Satan is very strategic in stopping whomever he think poses a threat to him. And since you’re committed to warding off the bad seeds he’s planted inside you along the way he’s plotting against you even now to hinder you from living a surrendered life full of love, joy and peace that we receive from God.

I can recall writing out everything I dreamed of doing and goals I wanted to accomplish in life before life took it’s toll on me. I couldn’t believe how much of myself I’d lost. I got so excited and with each day that passed I was coming up with plans to start tackling them one day at a time. Ok, so here I am full of enthusiasm and confidence that this was the first step to becoming the new Miracle. So here’s my attempt to conquer the first thing on my list and what do I get? Complete and total FAILURE!!! “You’re so stupid; what made you think you was smart enough to achieve that? You might as well give up now! You’ll never be more than what you are right now; a stupid, insecure broken little girl stuck in a grown woman’s body.” Extreme, right? Well those were the exact thoughts I began to think about myself after I failed. I wasn’t equipped with the right tools nor did I have my armor on because I allowed him to whisper his lies in my head that I USED to believe. After I wiped my tears from my eyes I cast those thoughts down and made them become obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). So again, put on your full armor of God and go to war for what yours.

Ok, so let’s turn Ephesians 6:14-18 into a prayer.

Let’s pray

Father in the mighty name of Jesus I pray that whenever Satan comes to attack my progress in becoming made whole in you that you help me to stand firm with the belt of your truth buckled around my waist so that I don’t believe the deception he whispers into my mind because I know he is the father of lies. Lord I put on my breastplate of righteousness knowing that it will protect my innermost being in which you created from Satan’s attacks. Thank you for going before me to prepare my feet to be ready for obstacles that may be placed in my path so that I may handle them gracefully to keep the peace you’ve given me in the forefront of my mind. Lord, I remain with my shield of faith on so that nothing can make me doubt your love and faithfulness toward me because of how others may have treated me. The helmet of salvation will allow me to continuously fight off spiritual deception as I constantly renew my mind with the sword of the spirit which is your word. God I thank you now for what you’re doing in my life and I’ll never cease praying because I know that it is through prayer that I draw my strength from you. In Jesus name, I do pray. Amen!

I hope you’re accepting who you are, what you’ve lost, but also inspired to take it all back and then some by force by faith and with the strength you receive daily from THE power source; God! I can assure you, it won’t be easy. You’ll have days you want to run back to what’s comfortable because the process will stretch you to capacity. But be encouraged. Isaiah 40:29 says that “God gives strength to the weary and He increase the power of the weak.” As you continue with your daily walk through life… stay focused! Be watchful and pray without ceasing. Attacks may come, distractions may occur but you Keep pressing!! Let nothing stop you from receiving the joy God wants to give you. THERE IS LIFE AFTER PAIN!!!

Love, Miracle!
